The Thalassaemia International Federation (TIF), in strategic collaboration with Medscape Education Global, is pleased to announce “The MENA Thalassaemia Experience”, a two-day, in-person Masterclass taking place on 24–25 April 2026 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
This high-level educational initiative is designed to strengthen clinical expertise, foster regional collaboration, and promote best practices in the management of thalassaemia across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
About the Masterclass
“The MENA Thalassaemia Experience” is an EBAC-accredited, case-based, patient-centred Masterclass that brings together leading international experts and physicians actively involved in the care of patients with thalassaemia.
Through interactive sessions, real-world case discussions, and multidisciplinary perspectives, participants will explore:
– contemporary challenges in transfusion-dependent and non–transfusion-dependent thalassaemia,
– prevention, diagnosis, and management of complications,
– iron overload monitoring and treatment,
– evolving therapeutic landscapes and novel treatments,
– transition of care from paediatric to adult services, and
– patient journeys across diverse healthcare settings.
Target Audience
The Masterclass is intended for physicians actively involved in the management of thalassaemia in the MENA region.
A total of 50 physicians will be selected to participate.
Application & Selection Process
Participation is subject to an application and review process.
Applicants are required to complete an online application, which will be reviewed by Medscape to ensure a diverse, inclusive, and balanced group of participants, aligned with the objectives of the activity.
Selected participants must commit to full attendance for both days of the Masterclass.

Travel, Accommodation & Registration Grants
Upon acceptance, participants will receive complimentary support, including:
– registration for the full two-day Masterclass,
– travel arrangements to and from Dubai (organised through Medscape’s appointed travel agency),
– accommodation at the meeting hotel,
– meals and refreshments throughout the programme.

Accreditation
This educational activity is accredited by the European Board for Accreditation of Continuing Education for Health Professionals (EBAC®). Participants may also be eligible to convert EBAC credits to AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™, in accordance with EBAC–AMA agreements.
