Mrs. Manal Zaatar from Egypt is a dedicated caregiver to her son who has non-transfusion thalassaemia, as well as an active board member in her local thalassaemia association. Mrs. Zaatar graduated from the American University in Cairo with a major in Mass Communication and a minor in Business Administration. After working in the corporate world for several years, she decided to leave her job and focus entirely on educating herself about thalassaemia.
This decision was motivated by her desire to ensure that her son can lead a normal life, without thalassaemia defining his identity. Throughout this journey, Mrs. Zaatar developed a passion for helping others and making a positive impact on their lives. She has since been actively involved in advocacy work, fundraising, patient assistance, and raising awareness about thalassaemia.
