Mr. Ahmet Varoglu, a dedicated patient leader, boasts a distinguished record of over 25 years in national and international advocacy. His extensive community involvement includes a long-standing board membership with the Northern Cyprus Thalassemia Association since 1988. In Northern Cyprus, his significant contributions include serving as President of the Health Associations Platform and a Board Member of the Universal Patient’s Rights Society since 2002.
Additionally, Ahmet’s membership in TIF’s Patient Advocacy Group (T-PAG) has given him valuable insights into the NGO world. His commitment expands to his role as a Board Member of the Universal Patient’s Rights Society and President of the Health Associations Platform. He also held a board position with the Civil Servants Trade Union from 1996 to 2016.
Beyond medical advocacy, Ahmet is an active participant in bi-communal initiatives such as the University Students Group formed by the Cyprus Fulbright Commission. As an experienced advocate, he has built relationships with Turkish Thalassemia organizations and federations, fostering international collaborations. Mr. Varoglu’s primary objective is to improve treatment for thalassemia patients in Turkey and worldwide.
