Dr Androulla Eleftheriou, TIF’s Executive Director, is featured among other inspiring female leaders in the 2023 edition of the ‘Women Who Advance Associations’ initiative for International Women’s Day.
‘Women Who Advance Associations’ celebrates the great talent of the international association community. For International Women’s Day, marked annually on March 8, they showcase female trailblazers and change-makers who champion diversity, equity, and inclusion through their daily work.
This distinction came as a recognition of Dr Eleftheriou’s career-long dedication and commitment to improving the life of people affected by thalassaemia worldwide.
As leading voices of civil society, association leaders have the power to act as role models and engines for transformation. Through their leadership, they can help promote an inclusive environment where difference is valued and celebrated as a key tool for strategic development.
The ‘Women Who Advance Associations’ initiative is powered by a consortium of actors, including DGA Interel, Interel Association Management, visit.brussels, FAIB, ASSOCIATIONWORLD, GAHP, HQ Magazine and Kadrant Law.
In an interview on the occasion of the acceptance of this recognition, Dr Eleftheriou talked about her motivation to work in the international associations sector and the importance of equity and inclusion as an integral part of TIF’s global scope and work.
