Mr Ivan Dimitrov Ivanov

Ivan Dimitrov Ivanov has been a TIF Board Member since 2014. He is an engineer in Industrial management, and has a Master of Financial and Business management from the Technical University-Sofia as well as a Ph D in Health management, from the Medical University –Plovdiv, Bulgaria. He is currently a Managing partner in financial and insurance house. He is the co-founder, ideologist and leader of Thalassaemics’ Organization in Bulgaria (TOB), Vice-President and co-founder and President of Bulgarian blood donation alliance (BBDA). He is also the co-founder and President of Central Easter European patient alliance in hematology (CEEPAH) and the founding member and key opinion leader of Bulgarian alliance of people with rare diseases.

He is a representative of International Federation of Blood Donor Organizations IFBDO/FIODS for Bulgaria. Among his major achievements are the implementation the usage and 100% reimbursement of the latest oral chelation therapy in Bulgaria. (Exjade, Ferriprox, Liquid Ferriprox), the setting up of MRI T2* and FerriScan tests for liver and cardiac iron overload and 100% reimbursement of it for Thalassaemia patients in Bulgaria; the implementation and usage the double combination therapy for HCV treatment of Thalassaemia patients in Bulgaria, in close collaboration with European Liver Patient Association (ELPA) and European Association for Study of Liver (EASL), the compliance to therapy program for thalassaemia patients and the implementation of the “Quality of life” program for Thalassaemia patients in Bulgaria.
