Τhe National Thalassaemia Welfare Society (NTWS) successfully organized the 9th National Thalassemia Conference on November 24 & 25, 2018, in association with the department of Pediatrics Lady Hardinge Medical College (LHMC) and the Kalawati Saran Children’s Hospital New Delhi (KS).
TIF’s President Mr Panos Englezos, Executive Director, Dr Androulla Eleftheriou and Medical Advisor, Dr. Michael Angastiniotis attended the conference, while Dr. Eleftheriou was honoured with the Dr. BN Dara Award for her outstanding and ceaseless contribution throughout the years in the thalassaemia field.
All the distinguished speakers and participants agreed that thalassaemia is to be treated optimally, considering the substantial policy-making promotion and services development occurring in the country during the last 2-3 years, and welcomed the new advances in the treatment of the disease.
TIF maintains close cooperation with the NTWS as well as the national health authorities and remains committed to support all the efforts undertaken in India, to ensure that every patient has access to quality healthcare.
