TIF’s global community will come together in Athens this November for the TIF Annual General Assembly (AGA) and Capacity Building Workshop for Patients and Associations.

Taking place from 20 to 22 November 2026, this important three-day gathering will unite patient association representatives, advocates, emerging leaders, healthcare partners and members of TIF’s international network around a shared purpose: to strengthen patient voices and advance better care for people affected by thalassaemia, sickle cell disease and other haemoglobin disorders.

The Capacity Building Workshop will equip participants with practical knowledge, skills and perspectives to support stronger, more effective and more sustainable patient associations. Its programme will address key priorities for today’s evolving health landscape, including advocacy, policy engagement, organisational leadership, communication, patient-centred care and digital transformation.

Beyond the learning sessions, the event will offer a valuable space for participants to connect, exchange experiences, share good practices and build partnerships across countries and regions. By convening diverse voices from across the global haemoglobinopathy community, TIF seeks to empower patient associations to strengthen their role, amplify their impact and contribute more effectively to progress in care, advocacy and policy at national, regional and international levels.
