TIF e-Academy
e-Academy is TIF’s newly developed project, within the context of TIF 2.0 Era. Using a variety of interactive tools and allowing users a deep learning experience, TIF e-Academy looks to increase the knowledge of patients, parents, and healthcare professionals on thalassaemia and sickle cell disease (SCD) facts, past and current advances.
For Patients
The TIF e-Academy offers three comprehensive e-learning courses designed to support patients, families, and caregivers affected by haemoglobin disorders. The Thal e-Course enables people with thalassaemia and parents to build their knowledge of the disorder, including its genetic basis, the blood component affected, emerging treatment advances, lifestyle considerations, and other key aspects of care. The SCD e-Course for Patients provides individuals with sickle cell disease, as well as their families and caregivers, with in-depth information on all aspects of SCD clinical management. Its content has been developed by eminent international medical experts with extensive experience in caring for people with SCD. In addition, the EU Health Policies Course offers EU citizens an overview of European health policies that may affect their well-being, helping patients better understand the wider policy environment shaping their care and rights.
For Healthcare Professionals
The TIF e-Academy offers three comprehensive and up-to-date e-learning courses designed for healthcare professionals working in the field of haemoglobin disorders. These courses cover key areas including Thalassaemia Prevention, Thalassaemia Management (eThalED Course), Sickle Cell Disease (SCD e-Course), and Genetic Counselling for Healthcare Professionals involved in the care of individuals with haemoglobin disorders. Developed by international experts, the courses provide evidence-based knowledge and practical guidance to support healthcare professionals in the prevention, diagnosis, counselling, and management of these complex, hereditary conditions.
For Laboratorians
The content has been written and reviewed by medical professionals and expert patients, in collaboration with educational scientists, instructional designers, and graphic designers.
