The Power of Parental Love
Patient/Healthcare Professional
Thailand
I dedicate my story to my parents in gratitude for all they have done for me. Diagnosed with Thalassemia major at just 6 months old, my parents observed my unusual pallor and lack of playfulness compared to other children.
Upon diagnosis, they tirelessly sought a cure for me. In 1991, transplant technology was not well-established in Thailand, yet they bravely opted for the risky procedure that ultimately saved my life. Despite numerous infections following the transplant, their boundless love and unwavering attention carried me through the ordeal. They overcame every challenge on my behalf, and ultimately, I was healed.
Now, it’s time to give back. I work as a Haematologist in Thailand, where I devote myself wholeheartedly to the care of patients with thalassaemia.
I owe infinite thanks to my parents for shaping me into the person I am today—a giver dedicated to helping others.
