Thalassaemia Unit, Centre of Expertise in Rare Haematologic Diseases & Rare Metabolic Diseases

The Danish Centre for Red Blood Cells is a highly specialized unit located at Rigshospitalet, in Copenhagen, the largest diagnostic, clinical, and research facility for rare anaemias in the Nordic countries.

The Center is dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of red blood cell disorders in Denmark and is also open to patients from other Nordic countries, where the prevalence of hemoglobinopathy carriers remains low.

The on-site assessment of centre was carried out by the TIF Medical Consultants on 9 April 2025.
