Her Highness Sheikha Sheikha Bint Saif Al Nahyan is the wife of His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, advisor to His Highness the President of the State.
Her Highness has served as the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Thalassaemia Society since 2010. She has made significant contributions to raising awareness thalassaemia and hemoglobinopathies in the United Arab Emirates. She has been a staunch supporter of patients and their families, offering support for their education, housing, and treatment needs, particularly related to bone marrow transplantation.
Her Highness is also a permanent member of the Board of Directors of the Thalassaemia International Federation (TIF). Additionally, she holds the title of Supreme Vice President of the Sheikh Sultan Bin Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Humanitarian and Scientific Foundation, which played a pivotal role in establishing the Thalassaemia Center in Fujairah and, more recently, the Sultan Bin Khalifa Al Nahyan Center for Thalassaemia in Ras Al Khaimah.
Furthermore, Her Highness is one of the founders of the Sultan Bin Khalifa Al Nahyan International Award for Thalassaemia.
