CAPACITY BUILDING WORKSHOP FOR PATIENT ASSOCIATIONS IN EUROPE | 2-3 July 2022
The Thalassaemia International Federation in collaboration with the Kronisk blodsjukdom KBS – Sweden has undertaken, as part of its educational programme, the organization of a 2-day workshop on Thalassaemia in Stockholm, Sweden, to take place on 02 – 03 July 2022.
The workshop will focus on developing the skills and abilities of patients with thalassaemia, aiming at empowering their knowledge to become productive and valuable partners of the medical community and national health authorities.
There will be more than 150 participants (Healthcare Professionals & Patients) from different countries across Europe who will be able to contribute constructively to shaping health policies at national level through their actions at national level and with the knowledge they will derive from the workshop, which will directly or indirectly help to improve the quality of life of patients.
A dedicated Scientific Session will also provide the opportunity for participants to be updated and to understand the recent and/or ongoing developments in the field of thalassaemia.
The event’s Scientific Programme will cover a broad range of topics, focusing on the INNOVATIVE THERAPIES, CARE, and less on overviews of basic clinical management, conducted in the context of the search for the total cure of thalassaemia and other haemoglobinopathies.
Furthermore, the Patients Programme will seek to EMPOWER, EDUCATE and INFORM representatives of national thalassaemia associations in Europe on issues of crucial importance.
