Delegation Visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) – 17-18 December 2017

The Fujairah Thalassaemia Centre of the United Arab Emirates, has been the first Centre to be awarded TIF Certification for the quality of services provided. The Centre, which first opened in 2011, was
visited by a TIF Delegation comprising of Dr Michael Angastiniotis (TIF Medical Advisor) and Dr Andreas Polynikis (Former Director of Quality, Cyprus Ministry of Health) on the 17 and 18 of December 2017, with the purpose to identify and assess the Centre’s compliance with the Federation’s standards.

The provided services, hierarchy, administration, architecture and equipment as well as the human resources are of the highest quality including an experienced multidisciplinary medical and nursing team. Furthermore, the Centre demonstrates an excellent electronic medical record – disease specific – linked the hospital EMR and laboratory system. The Fujairah Thalassaemia Centre is expected to renew this Certification in 2019.
