TIF aspires to continuously empower patients with thalassaemia and other haemoglobin disorders, encourage them to create and consolidate partnerships, both with other thalassaemia associations and with external stakeholders, establish impactful management programmes in their respective countries, and ensure, by doing so, that all patients with thalassaemia have an improved quality of care and life.

To this end, TIF is organizing a Capacity Building Workshop for Patients’ Associations and people with thalassaemia and other haemoglobinopathies, which will take place on 12-13 October, 2019 in Hamburg, Germany.

The venue of the Capacity Building Workshop is the Dorint Hotel Hamburg-Eppendorf.

Workshop Final Programme

Faithful to its long-term commitment to addressing the disparate needs of patients with haemoglobin disorders across the world, TIF is enriching and upgrading its internationally renowned Educational Programme, namely through carefully elaborated events and activities, such as the TIF e-Academy, the EU co-funded THALIA project, the ongoing publication, translation, and distribution of its educational material (books, guides, etc.).

TIF has also contributed constructively to the formulation of Memoranda of Understanding and Action Plans to promote national programmes for the control of haemoglobinopathies in various countries, while remaining in close working relations with WHO and other key strategic partners.
