Mrs. Eleni Antoniou holds a Bachelor of Arts (Ptychion) in Classical Studies awarded by the University of Cyprus and a Master’s degree in Intercultural Communication, awarded by the Institute for Translators, Interpreters and International Relations of the University of Strasbourg.
Mrs. Antoniou joined the team of the Thalassaemia International Federation in 2017 as a Policy Officer, with a focus on European and International Relations. Since August 2022, she serves as the Federations’ Senior International Affairs Officer. Through her work, Mrs. Antoniou has both implemented and coordinated the implementation of many activities aimed at bringing thalassaemia to the forefront of international bodies’ agendas.
Before joining TIF, she had worked as an expert Grant Writer and Project Manager at GrantXpert Consulting in Nicosia, Cyprus and as a Project Manager at Dias Publishing House, one of the largest media groups in Cyprus. She also completed traineeships at the Council of Europe, Strasbourg (2013) and the European Committee of the Regions (2014), Brussels. Mrs. Antoniou is a Sworn Translator of the Republic of Cyprus for Greek, English and French.
