George Constantinou

Originally from Cyprus, Mr. George Constantinou has resided in the United Kingdom for over 20 years with his wife and daughter. He holds a degree in Hotel and Tourism Management from a London university and possesses over 30 years of experience in the industry, including roles as a hotel owner and travel logistics expert.

Since his youth, Mr. Constantinou has been dedicated to advocating for patients’ rights to better healthcare services and quality of life. He played an instrumental role in establishing national patient associations in Cyprus (1973) and the United Kingdom (1978), serving on their boards as Secretary and Chair for many years. As a founding member of the Thalassaemia International Federation (TIF) (1986), he has held various positions within its Board of Directors.

Mr. Constantinou has participated in numerous TIF Delegation Visits worldwide, visiting over 40 countries such as Bangladesh, Malaysia, Thailand, Egypt, Maldives, France, Greece, Germany, Sweden, and more to promote awareness and improved treatment for haemoglobin disorders. In his pursuits, he aims to inspire, inform, and educate patients, parents, medical professionals, and policymakers about their crucial roles in developing high-quality services for patients.
