Description: 30 medical College unit under medicine club central committee arranging various types of programs at a time at 8th may ,2018 such as blood donation program,Seminar , Awareness rally and discussion , health camp and many more. Medicine Club is a voluntary organisation run by medical and dental students of Bangladesh. It started “Thalassemia Project “ since 2001 along with its other activities. Thalassemia patients are considered under this special project in the branches located in 30 medical colleges of medicine club all over the country.Of these there are 1260 registered thalassemia patients.Medicine Club provides priority to give free blood to them . Medical advice and counselling,along with poster -leaflet are distributed for raising awareness and prevention.From 2011 to 2017 , Medicine club has provided almost 1.5 lac bag blood among which 16000 bag blood has been given to thalassemia patients.

In this year International Thalassaemia Federation(TIF) decided to celebrate 8th May 2018 as International Thalassaemia Day with the theme “Thalassaemia past, present and future: Documenting progress and patients’ needs worldwide”. They dedicated this year to all thalassaemic patients and parents who have never lost hope for life and to all implicated scientists who have never given up and who, with their efforts and persistency, have given this hope, for a long, good quality life, to our thalassaemics across the world. International Thalassaemia Federation Launched a global wide competition where awareness photo contest, video contest, inspiration story etc. Bangladesh Thalassaemia Samity and Hospitals feels that the theme of the year is very much needed and to move with TIF suggestion, in Bangladesh we take an initiative to celebrate International Thalassaemia Day through 10 day-long program and campaigning. This campaign will take place in three districts (Dhaka, Chittagong and Comila). Objective of Campaign: • To aware people about thalassaemia • To aware International arena about Thalassaemia Activity in Bangladesh. • To encourage people to give blood forthalassaemia patient • To develop a thlassaemia hub point. • To develop a Thalassaemia Career Network. Target People: Young Generation Expected Outcome: Directly: • We will reach 250 Hospital. • Collect 400 Video through campaign time by mobile ( Awareness, Statement) • Collect 2000 Photo through awareness by individual people. • Through Social Media we directly reach in our group 20000 • Two Radio Show minimum 2,00,000 people reached • A documentary on Thalassaemia Awareness, Prevention &Treatment. • Develop a future plan through round table conference. Indirectly • We will reached more than 15,00,000 • Mass Awareness through Media Coverage. Name of Activity Thalassaemia: “I AWARE” Campaign In this campaign we will go to 20 different places of Dhaka, Chittagong and Comilla. We will aware people and will take small video and pictures. Hospital Campaign: On the occasion of International Thalassaemia Day we are going to arrange a poster campaign at 250 hospital of Dhaka, Comilla and Chittagong. Round Table Conference: “Thalassaemia past, present and future: Documenting progress and patients’ needs worldwide” Dual Language Thalassaemia App Launching. (Bangla & English): We are going to Launch Bangladesh 1st Dual Language Thalassaemia Based Apps. Radio Show at different F M Radio. Social Media Campaign through photo, documentary video, live program etc Voluntary Blood Donation Program Seminar on Thalassaemia at Daffodil International University
